About Us

Taptu is a search engine designed specifically for touch screen phones. Since the company was founded in 2007 we’ve been looking for ways to make our own mobile life more interesting, colourful and user-friendly. We crawl sites and app stores to bring you the best mobile content optimized for your touch phone.

Our blog reflects both the latest Taptu news, as we tinker, build and experiment with it, and also our thoughts about the mobile web as it evolves, out there in the big grownup world.

The team

Jason Harris

jason harris

Jason is a techie at heart, tinkering with gadgets and mobile devices every time he gets a chance. Living in Portland, Oregon, he carries his MacBook Pro, Nokia N Series phones and iPod Touch everywhere he goes. He’s a devoted dad and much like Steve he’s an avid cyclist. He’s on Twitter too and blogs at TechCraver.

Charles Olive

Charles and his alter-ego Grumblemouse have spent the past few years helping various companies in London with their digital strategy and building communities. In his spare time he can be found studying philosophy or growing bonsai. He also likes to think of himself as ‘digital anthropologist’ although we think that’s just a fancy word for surfing the internet.

Steve Ives

Steve is the founder of Taptu and man of many great ideas. Previously, he founded Trigenix, which was acquired by Qualcomm Inc in 2004.
